Heavy Sleeper

A user who has difficulty waking up easily and often sleeps through standard alarms.

Light Sleeper

A user who wakes up easily form small noises or notifications and values an undisturbed sleep.

Restless Sleeper

A user who struggles to stay asleep throughout the night or experiences frequent restlessness and poor-quality sleep.

Consistent Sleeper

A user who goes to bed and wakes up at roughly the same time every day, including weekends, maintaining a regular sleep schedule.

Student

A user balancing academic responsibilities.

Shift Worker

A user whose sleep schedule varies due to alternating or overnight work shifts.

Night Owl

A user who tends to stay up late, often past typical bedtime hours, due to preference or habit.

Creator

A content contributor who produces sleep-related media.

Health Conscious

A user who actively monitors their wellness, including sleep, diet, and fitness, and wants their sleep data to align with broader health goals.

User Stories

Sprint 1

As a heavy sleeper, I want to have options for multiple alarms, so that if I miss one there are backups.
As a night owl, I want to have clear reminders for bedtime synced across devices so that I don't lose track of time.

Sprint 2

As a light sleeper, I want to have the ability to add my own noise and sounds I am comfortable with beyond standard color noise.
As a night owl, I would like to have the ability to set my screen's brightness and reduce blue light automatically at a set time to reduce headaches.
As a night owl, I want to set up the app to automatically begin silencing notifications before my wind down period so that I am less tempted to be distracted by my phone during wind down.
As a light sleeper, I want to set up an app mode that will silence all notifications and activities except for emergencies so I can fall asleep without interruptions.

Sprint 3

As a restless sleeper, I would like the amount of sleep I should be getting to be calculated.
As a restless sleeper, I want my audio to be tracked to ensure I had a good night's sleep.
As a restless/consistent sleeper, I want to provide information about my gender, medication usage, and drug and alcohol usage to better calculate my ideal sleep.
As a health conscious user, I want to see what my sleep consistency score is and how it trends over a period of time.

Sprint 4

As a restless/consistent sleeper, I want a calming interface when using the application.
As a shift worker, I want options tailored to my sleep schedule being during the day and not at night.
As a shift worker, I want to input my rotating sleep schedule so that the app can adjust my recommendations based off my shift cycles.

Sprint 5

As a restless sleeper, I want to be able to connect with others that face similar issues and learn how they deal with it.
As a consistent sleeper, I would like to have access to information about what I can do to maintain my good sleeping habits and improve them if possible.
As a restless/consistent sleeper, if I forget to use the application I want reminders on why good sleep is important and the consequences of not getting enough sleep.

Sprint 6

As a student, I want to have reminders set up for important tests so I can get extra sleep when I need it without that becoming my schedule.
As a student, I want to receive warnings when my late night studying could affect my sleep performance, so that I can make better decisions about my sleep schedule.
As a student, I want to block or lock out social media apps during my sleep hours so that I am not tempted to scroll before bed.
As a creator, I want my sleep aid content to be shared.
As a parent, I want to have a separate account for me and my child so I can have separate accounts for both of us.
